idk, maybe a few more obstacles to duck and cover with.

there will be.... :sinister voice: .... there will be....

I like this texture set better, but I think there's too much greenish yellow.
Ima have to add some more textures I think. Since I add the custom textures to the .BSP
file I should be able to supply a playable demo version soon. I've been working some
on the CS:S map too, but this one's my baby too.

It's looking better.  I think you're on the right track by trying to get rid of the repeating patterns in the hallways.  I think one big image of that face would look better than a bunch of small ones.

thanks. I'm trying to get away from the original formula a little and make it all different.

That tiled image with the heads\face is not mine, it is just there as a background image so I know where
the end of the map is, it will not be in the final product.

When I FINALLY finish the DM version... I hope to make a CS:S version as well.

Steam is giving me problems lately. Won't let me compile.  :tickedoff:
So many projects I'm in the middle of and I can't test them at all.
I'm attempting to re-install Source SDK (Hammer). I think it was the new updates
that hosed it.

I just started work on a new map for DM...

The idea> An RPG village, much like you would see in a Zelda \ Final Fantasy game.
Imagine armor\weapon\potion shops, wooden bridges, a farm, town center,
bizarre, a well, windmill, a river going through the town, etc...

I gave up on Hammer for the very reason you talk about.  Not to mention I just didn't have the desire to push to get back in to mapping.  But when it wouldn't compile a simple box without any light sources I gave up.  That was after a few reinstalls, too.

I have a friend who's really into maya, quark and blender.
He is showing me some modeling tricks and says he'll show me how to
UV texture and bumpmap correctly. I want to start creating models from maps,
so when it does work again I can bring 'em in.

AHA!! I figured out the issue... Zone Alarm was causing the problem.
When I kill ZA and run it, it compiles fine. So I have to disable it when I need to map.
It gives me issues with certain games too, like COH and Prey.
