This is the first system that I got everything right.
The only thing that EVER crashes is HL2dm,
I can play CS:s, DOD:s, even garry's mod for hours on end,
no crashes... its steam \ valve and the updates for hl2dm,
but I was hoping to tone them down to 1 per hour.
I thought someone might know some tricks to eleviate some
of the errors in hl2dm.
sarcastic creativity? sweet.

well then it looks like we're just gonna have to wait for another update. is there sumthin on steams site that can check hl2dm files for inconsistencies? i know they have the verify game file cache but if the others arent affected and u can still get in to dm then that shouldnt help. sry bro looks like ur screwed til the next update

VIA based motherboards are excellent and have been for a decade.  Other than Nvidia, they are one of the most stable platforms available for AMD chips.  I have run VIA and Nvidia for years now, VIA far longer - more like a decade - and as long as I use a good brand, they run stable and well.  I have a VIA based server here that has not been rebooted in 16 months.

Dead, seriously, its time for you to stop.  You don't know what you are talking about here.  If you read the Steampowered support site and forums, you would know that nothing you have suggested is anything close to the problem.  Its time to stop fielding bad info.

I learned today that Steam has a diagnostic feature that checks your pc for different things, ranging from device drivers to background services that may cause problems with Steam/Source games.? I doubt that fixing anything that it detects will eliminate memory errors, but maybe there's a chance that they will occur less often.

Copy and paste this link into your web brower's address bar to run the diagnostics:
steam://support/?Issues=*

One thing to note is that if you have an AMD processor with Cool 'n Quiet enabled, it may list your CPU as not meeting the minimum requirements.? You can ignore that.

DJ SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE LINK.

It's fixed.  You'll have to copy/paste the link in order for it to work.
