CS:S map in production by Smack.

If anyone's interested...

I'm trying to work on a map for CS:S since DM is not working so good....
It will be a compound for a cult or terrorist group.
For now I'll concentrate on making it a hostage map.
If it works out I'll make a bomb version too.

I'm slowly working on it and concentrating on details on the main house.
I'm making alot of furniture from scratch with brushes, but I'm trying to learn how to export
maya models into Source to bypass that.

Screenshots to come.  ;)

the inital idea for this map was to make a dream house, a house with all the features
that I would like, then I thought that one house was not enough, it needs to be a compound.
Large grounds with mutiple areas.

The main house will be luxurious with a private bar, large rooms, entertainment galore.
Then there will be lots of stuff outside, a small warehouse, some tunnels to a bunker.
Think survivalist stockpiles, etc... living quarters for the others etc...

even terrorists like to play pool I would think>

Sweet idea smack and the maps looking good too can't wait to see the final product
I want a product for three easy payments and one frikin complicated payment. The mail man will get shot to death, the envelope will not seal, and the stamps will be in the wrong denomination. Good Luck people!

This is awesome Smack, reminds me of that farm house but better.

thanks, guys... I'll do my best-est not to disappoint.

I made some headway and was able to import a cube into Source SDK from maya...
it was 1\50 the size I thought it was and had the infamous "purple checker" texture,
but its a start, after many hours playing around with it trying to get it to work  :lol:
hopefully this will lead to bigger and better stuff with the right textures.
I still have some resarch to do.

thanks, I thought it fit in.

I made a computer desk to test. I can get the actual model working now,
the textures are my problem now...  :'(

I see no texture problem, my computer desk is in fact purple and black.

It's totaly in right now.

If this goes well, I may consider converting "habitrail" over to CS:S as well,
with modifications. I'll make it an underground facility instead of a space station.
I've started that map over from scratch about 5 times now, why not a 6th time? :lol:
