I like the new CCC.  It makes overclocking simple for n00bs like me.

Meph, can you overclock your CPU in CCC?  I can adjust the minimum and maximum CPU speed, but it doesn't go over 100%.  It looks like it's more of a power-saving feature.

Msi's Afterburner lets you unlock the core voltage as well

Yeah, Dj, I think you are right.  I just glanced at that.  Still an interesting feature.

since AMD & Ati are one company now actually OCing you cpu with CCC may be a fearure supported on new mobos with the proper chipsets/hardware.

cpu ocing via software is becoming more and more popular since it tends to be more n00b friendly.

Mine supports OC via software, but always leads to a Hard Lock when i do it, so I can only do it VIA bios.  And My guess is that OC will be dependent on AMD chipsets?

put a last second bid in on a zalman 10x extreme and won it.it's a refurb. but they sell a ton of zalman refurb with excellent feedback.only $39 shipped.that's alot of heatsink for a q9400 at that price.i have a nice 135mm fan that just came out of that blown up psu that should fit the back of it real well for some push/pull action.if it will all fit.plan on finally breaking the whole pc down, drill some holes to run all the cables behind and might even do some spray painting.if i can find a nice 6 port fan controller for a good deal i think i would like all my fan cables going to one spot.

pretty impressed with this zalman extreme as far as air coolers go.running stock at 1.18v cpu temp is idling at 66f and it's 74f in the room.that doesn't seem right but that's what it's saying.running prime 95 it got to 32c under 100% load which is 30c lower that the stock intel.the suck part is i had to cut the case to get it to fit.i might could have forced it in but i'm fairly certain that would have led to disaster.also had to remove the motherboard but i was expecting that.the side panel on the antec 900 sits about 1/4" from the top of the heatsink.i didn't bother with adding another fan, cutting holes to run wires or painting for now.
