It's all good, I do food and gaming at the same time all the time.  Wireless headphones let me know when it's done changing maps or when I've respawned, so I just have to be really quick at checking the food.  Also, I'm close enough to the kitchen to smell when it's about ready.

Same here.  I fill a pitcher with ice and water when I sit down, only to have room temp water an hour later when I remember it.
