Any Linux distro would need sophisticated Logitech G15 drivers, a music app that is as good as Winamp, a FRAPS-like program, a Speedfan-like program, a RivaTuner-like program.....etc etc....to get me to consider Linux for gaming.

Now don't get me wrong...I do like Linux and the idea of Linux gaming is a nice experiment, but the software just plain isn't there.

The only thing I see there that isn't available is the G15 software.  You need to go look on the OSD respository sites like Sourceforge.  there are hundreds of thousands of programs and utilities out there for Linux.

The only thing Linux does not have for gaming is true DX performance.  Linux is almost there.  There is no doubt that within a few years Windows will offer nothing that Linux cannot also claim.  Even OpenGL games run beautifully on Linux - some with minor glitches, some that run just short of natively.  There are even some that are directly ported to the platform.
