I have a question>

I just got a "Light Scribe" DVD burner. It didn't come with any blanks to test (of course).
One of my friends told me it takes forever to burn a label with one. I'm trying to determine if it is worth
buying a 10-pack of "Light Scribe" blanks for $10... Is it worth it?

if it's slow, then probably not.maybe later on when the software and hardware are faster and more detailed with scribing it might be cool.

i would say if it takes awhile to light scribe start it before you go to work and when you come back home it is done i would think it would not take 4 of more hours

We have a light scribe burner at work but I've never used it's labeling functions.  This is useless post number #(quorn.postcount.valueof).

usually commands start with th command, then any variables, then the target.  At least in my experience, little as that it.

I had a lighscribe burner in my old desktop, it only took about an hour to scribe a simple list of tracks into the cd, though it is very cool, I think you may have wasted your money.

The Only reason I bought it was that it was cheaper than the other DVD burners they had at Circuit City
and I needed an immediate replacement. I couldn't wait for a "newegg" replacement.
Light Scribe was just an added feature I may never use.

I've been playing with my LightScribe Burner, experimenting with graphics and fonts.
I backup my MP3 collection to DVDs, but I've been adding tags to everything (which is very tedious BTW).
As I finish tagging every album by a band, I add them to these DVDs.

Sharpies get old sometimes, so these Discs will come in handy for those RARE important DVDs \ CDs.
The Discs are still expensive, more than $1.00 a disc, but it would be about the same to buy blanks and paper labels. It takes about 20 minutes to burn at the highest detail, but you can do other stuff while you wait.

Since you use foobar2000, can't you use the mass tagger or freedb lookup feature to automate this?

It doesn't do a perfect job, and most of the time leaves weird (and hard to correct) symbols in tracks.
It miss-tagged a bunch of stuff on me that I had to go back and fix.

but I may go back and give it another shot.

That's cool--to each his own.  I'm not too picky about tags.
