Depends on how big the WU is, and the speed of your comp.  did you enable large WUs?

times will vary, remember it uses processor time when you're not using it.  So if you're using your processor no work is being done on the WU.  So it depends on how much of your processor you're using.

When you first start a wu, it always shows as a rediculously high number.  It doesn't know how long your machine will take until you finish the first frame of the wu.  Then it can guess.  BTW, if you want to install it, you should be sure to follow the directions for using the NON-graphical client.  The screen saver\graphical client uses more RAM and is not as quick to scale back when you need your CPU in my experience.  Besides, the console can be installed as a service.

I'm giving you some tme to keep your spread alive, Harry.  My machines go off over the weekend while I'm outta town.  Of course, when I get back, I'll be adding 2GHz to my boxen...

Lets see, move the 3200+ to my son's machine.  Move his 2400+ to my wife's machine.  Move her Sempron 2200+ to Beesley, replacing his 750 Duron...

Oh, and if you turned on big packets (over 5MB), HL2 DOES feel that.  I had to turn it off tonight so I could play.  The small Gromacs and Tinkers I normally got on my old machine didn't cause any issues, but the big packets can, it seems.
