Your Rig/Your Setup
« on: November 10, 2007, 09:40:13 am »
I posted this somewhere else but the forum said i should start a new thread because no one had been to that thread for more than 120 days... so here it is.

thought it would be cool to see members computers and their setup as well. im a nerd like that and i think that seeing other members FRAG thrones would tell a little bit more about their personality.

heres some links to pics of my rig. i customized the case quite a bit to get the look i wanted and that took some time, but it was all worth it in the end. pic of my setup comming in a few days or so. still routing all my wires with zip ties.

lol. yea. there was a second 250mm fan on the side, but i took it off, thats what the vent in the plexi is there for. but the other 2 120mm fans suck more air than the 250 in the front blows in so i saw no need in keeping there, utill i go SLI... some day....

nah ya see, i like to respect my computer. and when it starts to smoke and buzz, yeah....that's an indication to me that it's very angry and wants to take a nap. i just run it as is.

Athlon x2 5600, 8800GTS 320MB, some fancy MOBO whose features I rarely use but Tom'sHardware said it was fast, 2GB RAM, Caviars in RAID (had to find a floppy disk to install the darn driver), mobo audio codec, and a brand new Logitech G9 mouse which, strangely, :( has not improved my aim or given me masterful skillz, but still feels good in my hand and makes me happpppyyyyyyyy (thanks, HWG)!

yea, imo "gamer" mice are a bit overkill... but if you have the bucks its worth it not to ever have to pick up your mouse and reference it to the middle of you mouse pad during heated combat. and for that reason alone i love mine. now i only move my wrist maybe 2"-3" and my forearm stays put!

Yeah, definitely a luxury item.  I wasn't really expecting it to make me a better player, but my regular wireless mouse was inadequate and I figured if I am going to get a mouse to play games with, I might as well invest some money in a good one... more than anything it is just really comfortable to play with since the rough/matte plastic feels so much better than the shiny cheap stuff and doesn't get all slick and clammy.

I got a 3700 processor with 1 gig ram, x1950GT vid, some generic case where the lights in the front work only if you whack it, a G5 mouse and a Zboard with the bf2 keyset.
