Their betas have gotten progressively less stable over the past couple years.  I think I'll just wait for the release.

Understood.  I held out as long as I could before I moved to 2.0; I use it, but it's not the joy to use that .8 (or whatever it was) - 1.5 were.  Word on the streets is that Mozilla has adopted a back-to-basics approach to FF 3, hence I was eager to try it out.

As an aside, to any beginners interested in learning about client-side DOM scripting or the general (again, client-side) workings of a modern webpage, I highly recommend Firefox + the FireBug extension.  A text editor like Notepad or maybe Notepad++, Firefox/FireBug and a bookmarked Mozilla Development Center can carry you a long way towards building an inexpensive base of knowledge.

I always use Notepad or Notepad++ for my web work.

notepad and dreamweaver xD

and for those counting:

"So for those keeping track on Firefox 3.0, that's 11,000 bugs, about 700 bugs still remaining, 250 million users during its lifetime, for a product that will be given away for free. "

I've been using it for 5 minutes.   I'm curious to see if it's still a memory hog.
