Nvidia's ESA software
« on: January 04, 2008, 12:32:42 pm »
has anyone else used this program yet? it seems to be more promising than most other software provided by manufacturer's in the past. sadly my mobo is not supported yet.

Is this a "from-scratch" new program or a rebuild of nTune?  I have had some pretty darn negative experiences with nTune (one in particular that required a BIOS-up reinstall)...

I know what you mean. nTune was apparently the fruits of Nvidia's secret program to convert horse-crap into working software.

However, I really do think the ESA software is brand new, and I've heard good things about it. Sadly, I'm still running an nForce 4 Ultra mobo, which is like a fossil now and doesn't support the ESA software.

i hate the nvidia ESA software!

tried to install the latest drivers last night... my pc would fail half way thru and blue screen EVERY time! tried everything, safe mode, running only one video card, doing a entire system sweep, cleanning my registry..... bla bla bla. in the end i just flat out could not get any nvidia drivers installed on my pc. and considering i uninstalled all the old drivers before trying to update... yea, my pc was useless. no internet no rez higher than 800x600 16bit.

i blame the ESA software, alltho i have been told by the email tech people that it works with my mobo several times. it does not! it installs some times yes, but is useless in the fact that it does not let me move one slider or check one check box... in the rare case that it does, my system crashes just as the setting is fully applied.

causing me to restart in safe mode, clicking like a crazy man trying to disable the thingy that crashed my pc before the ESA program starts, because if it does... yes it blue screens my system again.

not to mention the newest rev of the ESA software crashes my pc when i try to install it. im lost and i dont care any more. FAQ YOU ESA!

 :uzi:  ESA

now reformatting my otherwise perfect install of win xp pro. and i cant wait to download all my steam games again! YAY!

thanks for letting me vent.

probably has something to do with the ESA crap messing everything up before hand. ether that or my mobo sensors are just not the kind most software likes(speed fan included).

we will see how the latest drivers fair on a "ESA free" fresh install of xp. if all is good than the mobo sensors should just do their job from the bios settings. which should be all i need, as long as no nvidia stuff tries to over ride them in windows like last time.

only time will tell...  :-\

see the thing is none of the other sensor monitoring software worked for me either.our boards on so different from one another.give it a try on the new install if you have the time.
