Some TF2 suggestions

Debate away ... i've seen these on another server and like:

  • No killing in during 'setup time'
  • Sudden Death = Melee only (turrets and teleporters disabled for engys but dispensers allowed) - hit with your wrench / bat / axe etc to kill the enemies ... its fun

I like the no killing in setup time. Especially in that map with the trains.

But I think the engy's in sudden death are a useful strategy point. If you're a few seconds from Sudden Death, you can change class so as best to survive the round, and that may include being an engy and setting up some sentries to fend off those pesky scouts.

well you can switch classes during sudden death too.. but only in spawn

I have no problem with killing during setup.  If the enemy team is in the area that is known to be attackable pre-round, they deserve to get blown to bits.  In fact, last night I jumped the train and got my first bottle kill during setup.

I beat a pyro to death with my bottle before the round started.

Melee only is awesome, but is not do-able with our current admin software.

I killed smoke yesterday during setup on Castle3.

Stuck Sasha through the gate and fired. Was too funny, as he was taunting at the time.

FYI, pyros and heavies can hurt people through the setup fences. I'm not sure if any other classes can, but I don't think so.

I think it depends on the map- sometimes there are small gaps where the flames and bullets can get through, but I don't think it's intentional.

The new plugins last night were cool!  Pyro melee was fun in sudden death and some of the punishment things were cool.

sup with the server, anyway?  three things last night (for those who weren't there):

1. when you're dead, you hear everyone.  not just dead people, not just your team, but EVERYONE.  man, that screws up communication.  you can only use so many recognizable synonyms for 'sentry' and 'sniper.'
2.  server automatically assigns teams.  not sure what the point of this is.. as far as i know kI doesn't stack on purpose, and i haven't noticed huge team discrepancies as a rule.
3.  all-heavy melee after 2fort stalemate.  as anyone on my team can attest (especially jack), i LOVED it.  :wacko:  i'd rather have either multiple classes or a faster class, though.

i also couldn't mute that old fart who kept complaining, but i suspect that's a problem with steam.

1.  Not anymore.
2.  Sometimes we do - pretty much anytime there is another clan playing, they try to stack.
3.  I charged into the full crowd of blue heavies and got beat down fast.  Jes charged in and took down 5 of them.  One of our guys actually made it down to the enemy intel, but got decked right outside our own base because he tried to fight instead of just keep running.

thanks, meph.  unfortunately i remembered more to complain about.. there's an automatic map vote every round now.  i'm not diggin' this, since people are only going to vote for maps they know, instead of being forced (force can be good!) to check out new ones.  i never would have checked out castle or warpath or quarry if they hadn't been in the rotation.
