did you uninstall the card in windows before pulling and changing slots?do you have another pc you can try the card in?if not,does a friend?

Ok, uninstalled the card. Changed slots, reseated ram. Still happening. Dave, thing is this only started happening recently just out of the blue, i didn't change anything so i don't know how out of date drivers on my Mobo (which they could be, but the card itself is old too). So i still have no clue what is going on. Thing is I'm pretty dependant on that card, so i keep restarting my comp to use it, my on board sound hasn't ever worked as far as i know unless I'm missing something.

the only for sure way to find out if it was a hardware failure would be to try it in another computer

and i'm running an original audigy.ever so often(but only when i run steam)my audio will output a loud high pitched noise and it won't stop till i exit steam.i just restart steam and it's good.

on board sound ehh?

go into your bios and see your on board sound device is disabled. if so, thats why the on board sound is not working.

if it is enabled, that may be your problem with your add in card... try disabling it.

just a thought.

Defiantly the sound card. Got my onboard working and took the card out, workin fine now. Sucks having 5.1 headphones and onboard though. haha

Haha, no money for a new one right now. Out of a job still looking. I really should have just built my new comp instead of getting my 360. haha, Kickin myself for that one now.
