Just wanted to thank everyone for the friendly welcome and the unexpected linguistics lesson.   I just started looking over the forums and so forth, and thus you will probably see posts from me in the future.

Bad easy if you are from the Chitown area you need to save up some cash and go to Morton's.  I spent $80 for a meal but it was one of the best of my life.  I suggest the mashed potatoes and double cut filet mignon

i'm always up for a good steak joint.  the best i ever had was at the angus barn in raleigh, NC.  melted in my mouth.

Easy, how recently did you go to the Angus Barn?  I'd heard that its standards had dropped.  Maybe that's not true.

i went in 2004.  i remember that well, but i'll be damned if i can't remember the last good steak i had in chicago, of all places... this needs rectification.
