my pos got 8059  (<- click for details)cpu not as overclocked as it used to be when i was using water and gfx card stock.

AHHH COOL!!!when did you get a 8800gtx?well i was thinking of upgrading my cpu to a x2 4800 but i guess i would be better offmoving on to am2 or intel duo core.

A little bit before xmas.My cpu is really holding me back but like meph posted somewhere on the forum "new cpu = new mb = new mem." or something to that effect.

Yep.  The move from 939 means AM2 which means new mobo, which only takes DDR2 or DDR3.

thats really a rough test smoke. i peak 2 fps during that test but mostly get 0-1 fps through out both cpu tests.

thx anomaly for the reply.i thought maybe i was having a hardware issue but i guess the test runs that way,cool.so my score is weak from a wimpy cpu and dated grapghics cards not software or hardware compatibility issue related.i should have known that by the scores,i'm right in line with everyone.

hey no prob smoke. that test is rough. i think that kinpin guy that hit 30k in 3Dmark06 only got like 200-300 3d marks total during both of those tests. and he was running a quad core at almost 6Ghz per core. i really don't even pay attention to that part of the test myself. after a nice OC on my cpu(E6750 @ 3.4Ghz) my score on those tests went up like 25 marks. pfft!  :rolleyes:

Yeah that annoys me, but I think my new mobo is AM2+ certified, so quads!

Just about any of the newer AM2 mobos were meant to be forward compatible, thankfully.  Mine is supposedly, too, but I need a BIOS update for it.  I'm only on a 570 chipset, too, so the compatibility goes back quite a ways.

yeah I got the 570 sli chipset, the only problem is that the quads are supposedly limited by the slower speeds of the AM2 socket vs the AM2+ socket

i agree with meph. i have the E6750(basically the same CPU as you) and with no OCing what so ever on my system i get 9k-10k with 2 gigs and 1 8800gts.
