I need a good defragging software for vista.  Some reason my windows defrag doesnt work after 2mins.  I had it running for 5 hours... before my computer locked up.  I normally defrag once a month, and its never taken that long.  Any ideas on good software for that?

I've used O&O defrag for years now, but if you want a free solution I recommend taking a look around Sourceforge.net for something opensource.

dude i read up on Vista's defrager... it blows! (from what ive read). it gives you no kind of progress bar what so ever! they said that out of all the aftermarket ones they tried. only the ones you had to pay for where worth it. but i read that a bout 2 months ago. stuff may have changed since then.

yeah, no progress bar at all.... its retarded.  I heard that was good meph, i will give it a try

I already answered this in xfire, but for other people...  I use complete\access, then I set it to auto defrag in the background.
