nifty. i could be wrong but it seems smoother maybe? ether way i might go back to the last driver cuz i can no longer control my fan setting. in game i was hitting 69c on one card and 58c on the other...

thats bunk man. i rarely hit above 60 and both cards are within 3-4c

I notced that too... I was running at auto speed (for my fans) and I saw some artifacts!!!  :o (cause my card are overclocked) I needed to manually increase the speed of the fans... mmmh thats strange...

I downloaded those new drivers. Then I followed the Tweak Guides steps. I had never done that before. I had always just installed over the old drivers and never had an issue. This time I did the whole process and now my card is showing blue speckles when I play games or view anything dark. They especially appear along the left side of the screen. I uninstalled and then reinstalled, but no change.

Anyone have some ideas to fix this?

blue speckles?

maybe artifacts? i don't know dude. never seen that before.

you could try uninstalling all the drivers(ALL Nvidia drivers) delete the "Nvidia" folder, do a disc clean up and defrag. then reinstall the drivers you know work.

thats what i do when i have driver issues. its works for me :)

what card/mobo do you have?

Yes, they are artifacts. I have an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe (with nForce 570 SLI MCP) and a MSI 8800GT with dual slot fan and heat pipes (factory overclocked: core up 60MHz to 660 and memory up 100MHz to 1900). I'm running Vista Ultimate 32bit. I've haven't had problems with artifacts before.

Should I just install the old driver? Should I even reinstall the nForce drivers?

i would, i tend to over do stuff... but that method has worked for me before with other driver issues.

however i have never experienced artifacts just because of a driver. i think meph's had more exp. with Nvidia than i, so you might want to ask him if hes ever had a similar issue with artifacts before.

Okay I feel like a total idiot.

I'm somewhat colorblind, so I didn't notice that I was having some problems wit greenish speckles as well. And the speckles seemed to follow shading lines. The idea randomly popped into my head to check the cables. I just moved my computer back home from school and, sure enough, the cable was loose and the plug must have been giving a bad connection. I screwed it in and the speckles are gone.

So I learned my lesson: if I'm having problems with one particular color or range of colors - check the plug.

Thanks for the help, you put me on the right track.

Fallout 3 seems to crash less now

Do you really think that has anything to do with the drivers? When Fallout 3 doesn't crash much I call that a good day.  :2funny:

Actually, it doesn't crash for me anymore, but it was still worth saying.

Well it seems to crash about 3 or 6 hours into it at least a few times.
