We installed it on our HP tablet tc4400 and it works like a champ!! of course HP doesn't have drivers yet from some of the tablet specific things, but it works very well.

Very annoying.  Can't get to it through partner site, and the public download is too busy.

Heh, nah, that's alright.  I get 10 copies of the real thing when it comes out - straight from MS.  Besides, if i don't get this, I'll grab the RC when it comes out.

I seem to be downloading the ISO image for the 64-bit version from this site....

http://blog.wired.com/business/2009/01/how-to-get-your.html

I still need to get  a product key from the MS site once the public download becomes active.

So, I know I have to burn the ISO to a DVD, but then what?  And no n00b comments, please.

The public download *is* active.  But may be over now.  Only 2.5 million downloads were allowed.

Do you use Nero or something else for burning?

Here is the public download link.

I'm not sure what is going on with the partner server.  I am annoyed.  My link takes me to the Technet download page, but does not provide any other details.

I think the status of the activation key is in doubt.  The base W7 will run for a whole 30 days without it.

OMG, it worked.  I now can dual boot into either Visa Ultimate or W7.  The boot to W7 seems to take a lot longer, maybe just due to the slower drive I put it on.

There is no doubt that W7 is much quicker once booted.

Creative does not have X-Fi drivers for it, of course (all the other hardware manufacturers that I need to worry about do), but I was pointed at a driver that works - mostly - for the 64bit version.  I am back on the "Never Buy a Creative Card again" train.  love their speakers, their MP3 players...  their drivers suck so bad for their cards <sigh>

Even went into City of Heroes for a bit.  In XP I was able to run two windows at the same time of the game.  Vista = NO WAY.  W7 looks like I just need to tweak my settings a little and I'll be able to do that again.

I'll load Steam later and see how it does.

Now, if only I could get through to the MS site and get a damn activation code so it doesn't die on me in a month.

Now I'm activated.  Did it the first time.  I might actually try to use this thing for a while.
