The new iso worked. I started thinking that it might have been bad because I was using Chrome when I download it the first time. I used IE this time. One kind of strange thing. I was using 32bit XP and went to 64bit 7. It didn't give me an option to format the partition I was installing on(unless I missed it but I didn't see any other options). It said that it would install and put the old files in a folder called "windows.old". I would thing a fresh format would be better to install on but maybe it doesn't matter. Any ideas? It looks really slick. I should be able to play a little more with it tonight.
There is no upgrade from XP to Windows 7, so what you have is actually a clean install. When I say no upgrade, just to be clear, I mean that when you upgrade from XP to 7 it completely removes all XP files to a new directory because NONE of those files is compatible with the new install. There is an upgrade path but it doesn't actually upgrade anything - just moves it out of the way.If you want to be absolutely sure, Gad, when you start the upgrade process, you can choose to do a "Custom" install. This will take you to a screen that allows you to repartition and format your drives.
I am getting Windows 7 Ultimate for 10 bucks (legit) and before the release date as well.
