No.  You have been able to search from the address bar in FF since back pre 1.0 Phoenix.

That has been standard in FF since 3.0.  Just need to turn it on.  Frankly, I HATE that feature, so not only do i turn that off, I completely disable it :D .

trying out the W7 backup feature. my WD external has some sort off software backup too but i think the W7 back up program is more like a ghosting than just saving files.

anyone have any exp with this or am i the lab rat?

I use W7 back up.  I don't really know what you mean by ghosting, but you can restore individual files from the backup.

I switched after I discovered that Memeo, which is what comes with Seagate, wasn't backing up every file as I wanted - it said it was keeping it in sync, but it wasn't.  And I have a really old WD drive, which came with some clunky software that I also didn't find useful.

Memeo came with my Buffalo external, and in my version you can select what you want to back up or not (i think default was just My Pictures, My Documents, and My Music)

Yes, but it wasn't syncing them properly.  So I would look inside the folders and only some of my pictures would be there.  I tried to fix the problem but couldn't so I moved to W7 backup...seems to be working so far.

well the way i did it say it made a restore image. and let me burn a disc. the only thing is that the image is 14gb shy of what my current disc usage is at. i assume it doesn't copy the page file but my page file is only set to 12gb... my recycle bin is @ 4gb... idk.  :-\

right now im not trusting this thing so much.

I doesn't copy alot of things. Restore points, swap space, recycle bin, By default windows uses up i think 15% of your drive space for restore functions. I may be wrong on the %, But i know I had to drop the % to gain a considerable amount of space. Right now my restore is up to 12GB's but is currently @ 8.53 GB's.

Just guessing that's why the discrepancy.

I told it to (i) back up all my files on c:\ and (ii) not to make an image of the thing.  My back up is about 48GB large.  To restore files, I run Backup & Restore, and can browse through my backup in an Explorer window.

you have to browse through Backup & Restore.

Open up Backup & Restore from the Control Panel.  Click on "Restore My Files" and then click "Browse For Files."

oh... im a n00b!

i already formatted my drive and started to back up the way i normally do (drag and drop). i just feel safer that way. im just worried that if the windows image back up is hardware dependent and my mobo dies or some other hardware change happens its a lost cause. i could be totally wrong but im not really trying to gamble my data just yet on that method

id feel that the windows backup option would be useful to me as a system image restore but not as keeping my important docs safe for quick retrieval... call me old fashion.  :P
