Hello.  I've been using Synctoy for a couple of weeks now, and it has helped me keep certain folders on my flash drive current with my work and home computers.  Maybe one of you will find it useful as well.  Since it comes from Microsoft, it will only work with Windows.  Yes, it is free.

I've been looking for a sync tool like this but couldn't find anything suitable.  I didn't want anything dependent on Java, which knocked out the most promising utilities available via Sourceforge.

I use foldershare to sync between computers.  Also an MS product.  and Free.

Those look cool, too, and a little more 'hep' to today's kids, since they use 'the cloud' and all.  Actually, foldershare probably uses the Borg for assimilation storage, but why split hairs?

handy stuff.  I'll have to check these out.. got a 16gb flash drive now and need to back up a bunch of stuff.
