WOW 'bus is posting.  Hell is freezing over as you read this.

So I don't know if this has already been posted but I was curious what people do for a living.  I know some people (Meph== male-stripper) but many I don't.

I'm a graduate student. Specifically studying theoretical chemistry in the Martin Head-Gordon group at UC, Berkeley.  We study electronic structure which is a branch of quantum mechanics.  I don't mix chemicals but rather do math and play with computers.

P.S. Sorry Meph...

No that's just his hobby.

I'm a photo tech at a Walgreens. Nothing special aside from fun summer vacation pics.

I work for a local construction company as a heavy equipment operator. Most of our work is in sewer and water systems and concrete roads. Almost all my time working is operating a crawler excavator on one our sewer crews.  We have been somewhat affected by the econmy but do to the fact the Omaha's sewer sytems are all out of date we have plenty of work in our area.   It will take atleast 20 years before everything is fixed with omaha's sewers. I like what I do I have been doing it a long time and it pays real well.

Principal Engineer for the local Water Utility.  Been practicing civil engineering now for 18 years.  Still haven't gotten the hang of it yet.  I design the kind of  projects that Batt has to try to build.  Poor guy.

Majoring in environmental science, dont know what exact degree i want though. haven't decided. but i'm working for Borders Books/Seattle's Best Cafe. Not going to hot though, losing our store manager at the end of the month and nobody around here does their job. its like i have to babysit people older than me when i work...wtf? They are opening a Cabella's in the mall here (in replace of Mervyns) so i'm planning on applying there. Probably going to try and get an internship here in the next year though.

It's really hard to describe what I do ... IT ... Consultant/Senior Project Manager/Project Portfolio Director ... I cover everything from technical issues, to project management, to processes, to governance meetings with Chief Information Officers.  Used to be in the consulting world ... now work for one of Canada's big banks ... just applied to work with the government here.

My long-term aim, aside from winning the lottery, or living my entrepreneurial dream is to become a professional photographer.

Meph - semi-retired?  I wish i could :)

I work in the IT organization @ Boeing.  I am currently part of a rotational leadership program, so i do a bit of everything: requirements analysis, project management, architecture and design, integration, process, etc.

I am hoping to join the business partners group in June, managing the relationships between cutomers and IT.

Yeah, fomo.  My wife is a specialist in her field.  I most definitely married up.  Still freaks out a bit that she doesn't see that :D
