I've yet to find a good server to finish a full game. Its pretty fun though

AFAIK, when someone hosts, they become the actual host, meaning that when they lose connection, everyone gets kicked.

I don't know if there is an option to change it, but every time I played that had been the case

I figured that was the case. I finally got to gain some xp and use the flamethrower. Very satisfying.
