I've been hearing from friends to avoid this game, the reviews are not so good. But I'm currently playing Borderlands, so I'm behind the times, what's the verdict?

I like it. graphics may be dated, gameplay may not be the best, and the storyline seems copy and pasted, but if you did play Duke 3D, then almost everything is back, even the bosses.

Tons of boobies as well.

You can tell Gearbox did not add much to it, as they just really polished it and then released it.

Did not play the multiplayer yet, but if it's anything like Duke 3d, it can be fun.

I am enjoying DNF.  It is *exactly* what I expected.  I wanted (and got) a puerile 90's style twitch shooter with a B-movie plot and bad, sexist dialog, and I got exactly that.  The bad reviews out there...  I just don't know what they expected.  Its fricken DUKE NUKEM.  We aren't talking high art, here.

My only complaint at this point is that some of the driving parts get a bit long.
