Battlefield 3
« on: August 17, 2011, 12:36:36 pm »
This game looks gorgeous. I was not a fan of this type of shooter but my brother got me into BF:BC2 and I ended up really liking it, so I have been interested to see what BF3 would look like.

Here is a vid of 64 player map that is amazing.  Wow!

I was not too happy to see that it wouldn't use Steamworks(the worst part of BF:BC2 was the community interaction, it would be nice if they would come up with something similar to what Steam has) but it will be hard to pass it up if it reviews well.

Man that looks beautiful.  I recently finished Bad Company 2 single player...guess I'll have to check out some of the MP too.

EA is pulling their titles from steam, in order for people to use EA's steam-styled service

Been a battlefield fan since the '42 MP demo. Only an empty wallet would keep me from buying 3 :smitten:

The newest gameplay footage finally shows some gratuitous aerial combat. So awesome.

Also you have to download a program, Origin or something where you download games you own and stuff. Not sure if either of these are what your talking about

I played a weekend of the closed Alpha of this game. it was one map in Rush mode so couldn't really get a good feel of it. One of the biggest complaints by everyone including me was the 3D spotting. if you played BF2 you  remember that when someone was spotted it was on the minimap in red. In BC2 it was 3D spotting so the person would be lit up like a Christmas tree, even behind things. I want this game to be more like BF2 with better graphics..not a better BC2.  Im anxiously awaiting this game..unfortunately I cant preorder because I don't have the cash, but I will own it day of release.

One thing I do see int he video that Im hoping is not the case....the jets were moving soooo damn slow

You do realize that gamestop doesn't actually charge you anything until the game is physically released right? ;)

Yeah, but if you pre-order retail, you need not give money up front. yes you may need the total amount of purchase in your account at the time, but they do not charge you until release/ship.

I don't like the origin software, very buggy at launch, i actually own a copy of Vietnam and Bad company 2, and BC2 disappeared from within the software.

I figure that if I boycott origin long enough, they may move back to steam.  I don't like complications in my onlinelife :)
I do what I like.  You have problem?
