I am sure he is getting an active sub, not a passive sub smoke. now if he really wants a project then he could build one. stick with the 2 subs put one in the front viewing area and one behind where you sit, then you do not have to tune either up all the way and they will work fine. after all free is free. What are they like 8 inch 100 watt??
Oh the silly younglings

Yeah,  8" 150watts subs.  http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-PSW111-Subwoofer-Single/dp/B000P0528U

Smoke, I hear you about the sub. I would love to build one on my own esp since it's so simple, but the last 'handy' kinda thing I did was heat up a hotpocket in a  microwave  :2funny:. I will probably electrocute myself trying to put together a sub.

Im looking up good subs now.  The top contender now is this . http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?products_id=407

Oh wow great find Smoke, New Egg has a $50 off it too. That's a good price for a 12" sub.

I just bought the yamaha A/V reciever in here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882115277&Tpk=yamaha%20rx. with the Promo.  ended a little shy of  $1000.

Now I have to wait until the next pay check before I can buy speakers. ROFL
