new movies, what's good?
« on: October 20, 2005, 11:54:39 am »
Batman Begins>
I personally liked this movie, but was a little on the long side, and took awhile to get going.
I'm glad it wasn't anything like the last few batman movies, it was darker and more serious.
They should beat Joel Schumacher for almost ruining the Batman series.
Christian Bale plays the role of tortured soul very well. I was shocked at the cast, Michael Caine,
Morgan Freeman, Gary Olman, Liam Neeson, Rutger Hauer, Katie Holmes.

Corpse Bride

So sue me, I like Tim burton films. I was expecting a moive on the level of Nightmare before christmas but the plot left me hanging. Characters meet, go here do this, done. Boring. I will say it did look good, but agian, it just felt like a stab in the dark, compared to Nightmare.

I for one did enjoy the movie. I saw a "not so good copy" of it and now I will watch it on DVD to see if I like it more.

more on batman begins>

I heard alot of people complaining about how they didn't like the first batmobile, "the tumbler".
The way I see it, he had to start somewhere, I though it was pretty cool for a first vehicle.
I loved the whole scarecrow bit, that guy was just wrong all the right ways. The villains weren't over the top like in previous movies, no catch phrases or big theatrical antics. Just bad guys who neede a taste of justice.

Most of the people I concur with on movies have said that Batman is pretty good.
So, of all the Batmans, who was your favorite?
Michael Keaton by a landslide.

I liked Keaton alot, did a good job, Bale did as well. Kilmer was decent... clooney kinda sucked at it.
There was no need whatsoever for robin or batgirl... ruined those movies for me

God, at least Adam West didn't do a cameo in that picture! (Batman & Robin) :wallbash:

Star Wars III will be out Nov. 1st on DVD I think.. I will most likely purchase the DVD, and I don't do that too often.
I saw a version of it a friend happened to give me (on 2 DVDs). i thought it was alot better than the last two movies (or first two).

I'm still not sure about Eps. 3. Yes it was better but it still didn't fell like the old star wars movies. But I guess it can't be helped. :'(

I liked Batman Begins for the same reasons -- the explainations and such.

Michael Keaton was the ultimate batman. Carl is going to get the movie so I can see it.

I was not happy with Ep III.

Corpse Bride. No matter what Im seeing it. Im a Tim Burton fan and I love these films.

I am really wanting to see Serenity right now. I watched the series (of the little bit that was made) and became hooked.

You know, I thought Val Kilmer was a GREAT pick, but the direction sucked on the movie he was in.

Maybe I'm just too old, but Michael Keaton is Mr Mom to me.
