Rumorville
« on: January 02, 2006, 07:49:00 pm »
I like to gossip...i kno it sounds cheesy and all but i do.  So instead of posting a tiny paragrah saying "This MAY happen" i'll just make a topic of the "maybes" and "could bes" i've been finding as of late.

Futurama Movie????
Rumors abound that there is a direct-to-video Futurama movie coming out in 2007.  Right now its only a IMDB article which of course doesn't confirm that such a movie exists or will actually appear in 2007.  Will fans of the series (including myself) be greeted with a movie that'll reinvigorate the series similarly to Family Guy?

PS3 Delay???????
Industry insider "Fishy" has commented saying that the PS3 still has problems and will likely be delayed past Sony's stated March release.  Fishy is heard with a degree of credibility having stated specific and true statements about the Xbox 360 before its E3 announcements.  Will the PS3 have a rocky start like its Microsoft counterpart?

$80 BILLION DOLLARS!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....

Isn't confirmed yet but there are rumors that Microsoft had offered to buy Yahoo! for $80 Billion dollars, which they turned down saying the bid was too low.

'Windows backdoor' theory causes kerfuffle
« Reply #7 on: January 14, 2006, 02:48:19 pm »
The recent security problem regarding the rendering of Windows Meta File images was so bizarre that it has to be an intentional backdoor in the operating system, Steve Gibson said in a podcast posted Thursday....

...Gibson suggests that Microsoft could use the WMF issue to access PCs that visit its Web site. "If Microsoft was worried that for some reason in the future they might have cause to get visitors to their Web site to execute code, even if ActiveX is turned off, even if security is up full, even if firewalls are on ... they have had that ability, and this code gave it to them."

PlayStation 3, conceptual design?
« Reply #9 on: January 17, 2006, 03:55:49 pm »
Is it true that the designs we've seen for the PlayStation 3 are actually a CONCEPTUAL DESIGN?  If so, then a PS3 delay is even more certain...

As Sony stays mum on PS3, doubts grow

Sony's future as a hardware company and legacy as a media company are both riding on PlayStation 3 ? its long-awaited next-generation game console. But the less Sony says about the device, the louder skeptical voices grow.

Sony hasn't said much about the PS3 since May 2005, when it spilled details about the console's new processor and high-definition graphics. It's been mum since then. And when no new details were presented at the Consumer Electronics Show this month ? either during Sony Chief Executive Howard Stringer's keynote speech or under the roof of the company's megabooth, where it showed off a demo of the machine but wouldn't provide any other details ? the buzz got only stronger.

Now industry observers are wondering when the machine will finally debut and what the price tag will be ? both for consumers and for Sony itself.

it doesn't matter when they come out or how much they'll charge, people will still wait in line for 48 freaking hours like a bunch of morons!!!!!!!!

"...First there's the issue of the launch date. Sony's last word on this remains spring 2006, but almost nobody believes it ? at least not for the North American launch ? because of a history of delays for previous products. Thanksgiving looks to be a better bet..."

If that's true along with the Revolution launchdate rumors then that would put Nintendo and Sony head-to-head...this is gunna be a interesting year for gamers...

hey....i hate to admit it but im a sony fanboy and i'd wait like a moron....

Playstation 3? What Playstation 3????
« Reply #12 on: March 01, 2006, 04:51:27 pm »
just to repost what i said on a different thread and to add whats been said here:

With no real word on the PS3 at recent events such as CES, and revelations that the PS3's shown so far are merely "concept designs" and that videos such as the popular MGS4 videos simply "approximations of what it COULD look like", rumors come up that the PS3 will NOT be released before Thanksgiving nor will it cost BELOW $500 (now i don't remember if this is sony's manufacturing costs or retail value, nevertheless it'll be expensive).

Also despite statements by Bungie that Halo 3, for the 360, will not be done by the time of the PS3 release, Microsoft has stated that with the delays of the PS3 that they will aim for a release at the same time as the PS3.

The Nintendo Revolution is still officially set for a Thanksgiving release as well which could add more pressure on Sony to deliver a next-gen console, that may not even be as powerful as previously stated, if in fact the PS3 ships for the November holiday.
