maybe a line that combines selling price and tax? It might not be the most "java zen" way, but that's the simplest way I can think of:

System.out.println("Final Price:  $" + (((origprice*markupPctg + origprice)) +  ((origprice*markupPctg + origprice) * (salesTaxRate))));

that works. I think being so  noob at java, I'm afraid I'm putting too much in to the formula. Like I missed a step, didn't declare something i should of.

Thank you

If the outcome of the script is successful, then you did it right, yes there may be other answers, but if they don't specify the way they want it written, then you must be free to explore all answers.

Also yes you can always optimize/streamline, etc... but sometimes the long way just works. lol.

And I don't know java from a hole in the wall when it comes to programming, but i do know some basic, and if it works, then its all good. :p

i think they take it to literal, real world vs txt book, i'm sorry, real world wins every time, cause text books are not always updated to the times and software.

In other news, Java sucks, plain and simple. lol

And it is quite CPU intensive because of that. I guess with newer PC's its not so bad anymore, I remember a few years back starting a Java App would make the computer stop totally for a good 10 seconds  :lol:

Minecraft takes my comp a bit to start, Lol.  I can, though it's tight, run a minecraft server and play at the same time.
I do what I like.  You have problem?
